I have been to companies where they normally play music in the background. It's never loud so it doesn't distract people from working. I think that it's a good psychological approach at workplaces to lift the mood.
Music isn't allowed in schools, I can attest to that. You play music during break time, while going to school or when going home. That's what I used to do when I was a teacher too.As a teacher, we are not allowed to play music during work hours. I use my AirPods when I am going to school, during break time and when I am going home. But never during work hours.
Yes and I actually understand why that rule had to be enforced. Teachers will abuse the privilege and become distracted during work hours.
