David Lee Roth favored highly sexual lyrics etc. and Sammy Hagar was more into more serious "square" music. Well, David was essential to Van Halen's early music and even suggested the name for the band. On the other hand, would Van Halen ever right any music a bit deeper if not for the 2nd...
I don't have one of all time, but I like Willie Nelson's "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain", Johnny Cash's "Walk the Line". Don Williams "I believe in You", Hank WIlliams "Your Cheating Heart", Dwight Yoakum's "Guitar, Cadillac's" , among others. Who has heard of these songs? Does anyone like them?
One problem with phone calls to support is where they ask you about joining all this stuff you have no interest in joining. This happens when I phone up my credit card to see what is on it.
I use phpBB at the moment. However, I had a bunch of XenForo licenses, but my computer crashed with the codes for them and I lost the backup email. Oh well, I love XenForo, but I have been wanting to experiment with phpBB.
Anyway, always a big problem is the costs and I've been going...
He might have done well in pop country or old-fashioned country, maybe some kind of alternative rock-a-billy. He had an amazing voice that would have done well in any era. It would be interesting to see some sort of alternate history thing. :sneaky:
Actually, we shouldn't call them female bands, my mistake. They have male members who are important. For instance, Heart had a male drummer, maybe a male bass player. The Cranberries only had a female lead singer. Anyway, though, I think the Bangles were all-female as far as I know. The...
I like Heart's music but, being a guy, it's not about how they look, but that's not saying a lot of men don't like them in that way. Anyway, they are very talented and all their stuff, whether arena rock, pop, hard rock, or folk rock is highly interesting. There isn't anyone like them and...
I like her as a person, but I am not a huge fan of her music. 9 to 5 was pretty good, but the other stuff just doesn't grab my attention and "I will Always Love You" is very annoying, but I do think Whitney Houston did a good rendition of it, but the lyrics are still annoying.
Note: Dolly with...
It depends on the crowd. A lot of people get all psycho about stuff. A lot of people cannot handle opposing views. I can listen to opposing views, but the problem is that people falsely will say I cannot accept their views. In reality, I was always sane and very tolerant.
I can't name one. In fact, probably a lot of lesser known songs are as good and/or better than well known ones. Well, that's the case with a lot of popular bands in many genres.
All sorts of people in many genres of music use drugs.
I suppose that relates to the association of Marcus Garvey and all that, but I don't think, for instance, Bob Marley was a fanatic on that.
I don't know how many Reggae listeners are hardcore Rastafarians. Why would it be relevant to...
It seems like a lot of what is now mainstream was once called alternative. Anyway, when people say alternative, what is it an alternative of? Well, in the late 80s and early 90s, if you weren't into glam metal/rock or U2 or Phil Collins or Guns in Roses, maybe you preferred The Pixies, The...
Country and Western has some interesting beats. Nonetheless, drums were not always welcome in country. I suppose it was kind of a racist thing to big extent. Now, some music like bluegrass doesn't seem to really need drums at all, but there are bluegrass beats.
It was funny when Buddy...
Reggae isn't always about drugs, and you could say drugs are a big thing in rock and jazz also. Nonetheless, some people will make fun of you and any mention of reggae. Well, it's all good fun, but it's really inaccurate and silly.
Reggae is also another untouchable music where Caucasian...
Where I live in Southwest Virginia, USA, we have the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion. I haven't been to it, but it sounds interesting. Of course, there would be bands besides well-known rock acts.
