With or without a record label?

Signing with a record label comes with its own benefits, such as getting funding kits for promotion and other things. This also means that you won't get a full share of the revenue as well, which those without a record label gets to enjoy. So, when you are to advise a new musician, would you suggest they sign with a record label or ignore such a move?

I think record labels are a great idea for upcoming artists to announce themselves to the world. It will be kinda hard for them to do it by themselves.

Record labels help new artists to be well known faster compared to if they go solo. It’s just that some record labels now try to rip off their members.

It will be so hard for upcoming artists to do things on their own without record labels. Apart from the benefits or disadvantages, there are many things record labels will help new artists to do, they will be announced so fast to the world.

It's only with the help of social media sites like Tiktok today that makes some upcoming artists think they can do without record labels. Without it, it's not easy because record labels do so much because of what they invest in any artist.

My advice to a new musician is to join a record label. You are not joining because you are better than them but it's a pathway for people to hear you and also call for your service. The record label will promote the new musician, at least they have something to benefit.

Then what happens when the record label start moving funny? Some of them might want to start exploiting the artists.
