There's been some great folk artists who dated back all the way to 1920's. PETE Seeger is regarded as the father of folk music because of all he's done in the folk music genre. There are other folk artist's like Boby Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Odetta, Kingston Trio, Woody Guthrie and so many more.

Who's your favourite folk singer in all of them?
 
Most of the folk songs I have watched are performed by a group as they danced it. This is why why I couldn't choose one artist as my favorite when it comes to folk music artist. Bon Iver is a great singer too, I like some of his songs. He may be my favourite.
 
Bon Iver is a great singer and others too. I don't really have a favourite but I listened to some of them. I always go for songs that makes sense and can impact my soul too.
