What’s better, Writing in the moment or processing it.

there have been many situations where I’ve genuinely (imo) believed I’ve written the best in the moment like at one point I wrote a song about (my ex as of 1 week ago) and it ended up having one of my catchiest chorus’s. But on the other hand, there’s also been times where I’ve had to process events and experiences to write the material. In the end, what do y’all think, do yall do better at writing about you’re emotions as they are happening or waiting and processing them and writing about it later?

Some people are better in writing down their emotions while some are fast enough to turn into song immediately.
You are free to write them down as they are happening, it will help to remember easily when you needed it.

I can write at the moment but the best for me is to process it well, this will help me to put my feelings together and also have a clear mind while writing.

Honestly, I totally get that. I think writing in the moment gives that raw energy, but processing things can make your lyrics hit harder later. Both have their magic depending on what you're trying to achieve.
