He provided a lot of melodic bass playing that was pioneering at the time. Well, knowing this makes listening to Beatles tunes more interesting and I hear what they are saying. Who hear plays bass, wants to, or simply admires the instrument and how do you feel about "a step above" type bass playing?
 
I have always loved watching Paul McCartney as he plays his bass. He's so good at it and I can that be gave The Beatles the right dimensions the rock band had when he was with the band.

Paul McCartney is among the top 5 best bass players I was literally listening when I was in my youth age. I still play his songs once in a while whenever I'm in the mood for some cool bass.
