Hi everyone, my name is David. I'm originally from the Czech Republic, but for the last few years I've been living in southern Denmark.
I've been reading this forum for a while and finally decided it was time to introduce myself.
I didn't discover blues until my early twenties. Before that I listened mostly to punk, metal, hard rock and classic rock. I always found myself coming back to certain songs without really knowing why.
I soon realised that so many of the rock bands I already loved had their roots in the blues. It felt like I had finally found what I'd been looking for all along.
A few years later my rock band was falling apart, and almost by accident I joined a Chicago blues band as a bass player. That experience completely changed me. Since then, blues has become much more than just another genre I enjoy listening to. It's the music that feels most honest to me.
Today I mostly perform solo and as an acoustic duo, playing traditional Chicago blues alongside my own songs inspired by that style. I'm still learning every day and I'm looking forward to meeting other blues fans and musicians here. I'd love to hear about your own journey into blues as well. Was there a particular artist, album or moment that changed everything for you?
If anyone is curious, here's one of my recent live videos:
Thanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to being part of the discussions here.
