Do you make your playlists public or private?

I make playlists like every 3 months. These playlists are for different purposes and moods. But I also like to make it public just in case somebody else finds it as well.
I once downloaded a public playlist that I enjoy till now, so I do the same as well.

All the playlists I've made are all set to be public. How can I be stingy with another person's songs simply because I put the songs together?

I make my playlists public because I never know who else might enjoy it. I have downloaded a lot of playlists online that were made public by others and I enjoyed them.
