What is the fastest way to make money as an artist?

For some reasons, there seem to be so many people who are interested in becoming an artist in the music industry because it's presumed that fame and money comes to those on that path.

If you know anyone who's already successful and famous in the music industry, what do you think was the fasted way they made money and become famous?

The only fastest way to make money as an artist is for you to be involving in illegal activities that is most likely going to get you caught and imprisoned. Making money as an artist requires effort, dedication and hard work before your commitment to what you are doing is going to start paying off.
