What defines a good performance?

Music performance is something that requires big effort, planning and several practice sessions. Without going through those paths, it's going to impact on the live performance for the show.

Have you been involved with any music performance? How did the planning and everything go? What would you say made it a great performance?

The audience of course are the ones that can determine how good a performance is. If you are able to perform to their expectations and bring out the feeling in them, you will get the feedback at the end of your performance.

A good performance will come from the audience and not about the singer. The energy, vibes and shouts from the audience will Tel you if you are doing well or not.
Let's assume that an artist is on the stage but nobody is moving with the vibes, everywhere just quiet like a graveyard, that's not a good performance.

Yes, I’ve been involved in a live music performance with a small indie band. Preparing for it required weeks of practice, planning the setlist, coordinating with other musicians, and even doing sound checks to make sure everything flowed smoothly. Every rehearsal was important to ensure timing, harmony, and energy were just right for the live audience.

What made it a great performance was the connection we were able to create with the audience—the excitement, the singing along, and the shared energy in the room. Experiences like these reflect the spirit of Jameson Connect, which celebrates collaboration between artists and fans and encourages authentic, memorable live music moments.
