Hello, I wanted to share my love for Superheaven's Self-Titled album that was released this year. The album starts out some feedback turning into a big and booming guitar riff with a shoegaze type feel on track 1 "Humans For Toys" this song is about oppression in a dystopian world hence the name. The lyrics show deep melancholy slightly diving into politics with rebellion against oppression. The music video shows a rich man in a bar with the two guitarist/vocalists Jake Clarke and Taylor Madison playing pool in the background. The man was in a suit receiving an email reading "Sign the divorce papers D*ckhead." He receives another notification asking if he was sad, broke, and lonely, with a button to "give your life value." When he clicks it, Taylor and Jake come in and put a sack over his head and throw him in a van. The rich man is taken to a hospital where he is hooked up to an IV bag. The doctors who are revealed to be bassist Joe Kane and drummer Zack Robbins begin drawing blood. Their reasoning for drawing blood isn't exactly clear. My guess would be they are drinking the blood of the rich man. The drinking of his blood could be a sign of rebellion towards the rich people who believe they are better. The lyrics "Money's Everything" shows that your life is meaningless if you don't have money. Thank you for reading!
