How do you create a hook?

It is one thing to just write, and it is another to be able to hook your audience with your writing.
What are specific ways in which one can keep their audience hooked with their writing?

I don't know any specific way to get my audience hooked with my writing but I make sure that I don't jam-pack my words or use difficult words that you can't find the meaning fast. Everything about my writing is simple with a clear picture.
