Is there such a thing as bad music?

Music is in the ear of the beholder. Something I may enjoy might not be enjoyable to another person, vice versa. That you didn't find a particular song or genre appealing to your ears doesn't mean it's not music. I think there's nothing like bad music. You can say the person didn't arrange the lyrics well or adopt a nice instruments for the song.

That's why it's called perspective. The way you picture something or hear it cannot be the same way another person will picture it. There's nothing like bad songs, just that your differences are not similar with another person.
I would say there are such things as bad music but it all depends on the person listening to music. While some could enjoy a song, others might not and could call it bad music instead.
For example, I would say that heavy rock and heavy metal are bad music but someone else could say that it is great music.

Perhaps the lyrics and the message can make the music bad. If the language is all lewd and unwholesome, and it promotes what should not be promoted by t can be classified as bad.

It's all subjective really because personal taste is exactly that - personal.

I totally get where you're coming from. Music is so personal, and what clicks for one person might not for another. It’s all about finding what resonates with you, even if it's different from what others enjoy.
You're very correct. A song might be bad to me but other thousands of people would love it so much. It's why I don't say any music is bad generally.

So whenever anyone says a music is bad, they are just saying it to themselves. What I like is not the same as what someone else will like.
It's simply subjective and individual differences which plays a role in what Tom likes and what Dick hates. No two people are the same thing.

That is also true. So the fact that I do not enjoy any song does not automatically make it bad.
Is there any reason to tag a song bad? That you didn't enjoy the flow or vibes doesn't mean others will hate it too. There are many songs that I don't enjoy but I didn't open up to tell people to hate the song the same way I did.

Yeah everyone with their musical taste. I know better than to badmouth any song these days, I would not want anyone to do that to my favorite songs as well.
