Ever discovered a great song from a movie?

I had never heard Harry Styles' "Sign of the Times" until it was performed in the karaoke scene in Project Hail Mary. The original song: The karaoke scene:

What are your thoughts on the downfall of grunge?

No scene lasts for more than 10 years. Not really.

What does it mean to be indie?

"Indie" these days is just a descriptor for a kind of sound, but if you want to get into what "independent" actually means in the history of popular music, especially in the Rock Age, look no further than two movements: Rock in Opposition and Vanguarda paulista.

Which Funk music are you currently listening to?

Side A is a trip across a post-apocalyptic desert where the vestiges of a crumbled civilization send out their echoes, distant yet close, communicating a mystery the sojourner knows but cannot remember. Eventually he stumbles into a crossroads town where things don’t get any more normal. The...

What's your favorite Punk Rock music?

The first three tracks get me drunk without alcohol ever passing my lips. After the mad dance, I have to sit down to catch my breath, and a beautiful, heartbroken fairytale is waiting for me, telling me about life's hopes destroyed by alcoholism. OK. I've caught my breath. Back on my feet!

Which Ambient album are you listening to?

This album is held together only by gossamer strings of piano, violin, and harp with an occasional bassoon and French horn. Not to be listened to if you’re going to have any conversation or be doing anything to take your attention away from this quiet, soothing, healing album.

Which song would you consider to be a masterpiece?

Rush's A Farewell to Kings ends with a song that has to be continued on their next album. I can't think of another album that has a to-be-continued song like "Cygnus", which is picked up on their next album. Hemispheres opens with the conclusion of the Cygnus saga, the god of balance being born...

What are some great Hiphop albums to listen to?

This album is so good that I, a non-hip hop lover, can introduce this album to someone who is a huge hip hop fan and watch it instantly become his favorite hip hop album. Enter into a dystopian future Earth so corrupt that aliens won't even invade, simply because there's nothing left to salvage.

Drop your gem classical song that almost nobody seems to know about.

How does one determine what "many don't know about"? The people around me, the ones into music like me, know what I know. And if you mean strangers, there's no way to determine what they know and don't know. Do you mean a certain number of sales? Streams? Something quantifiable?
